DOE, DTI check LPG, gasoline stations
The Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Energy are conducting random check on establishments selling liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and on gasoline stations in Iloilo city and province.
DTI Iloilo Director Wilhelm Malones said the DOE random check will determine if the LPG tanks sold in these establishments are still covered by product standards and if the meters of gas stations have been calibrated.
Malones said LPG tanks should be covered by product standards to make sure that these will not cause hazards to consumers.
The calibration of gas station meters should not be tampered, he added.
The random check is being conducted as a part of the Consumer Welfare Month this October.*PNA
