30-foot Christmas tree to rise in Roxas City
ROXAS CITY – The Roxas City government led by Mayor Angel Alan Celino will put up a 30-feet Christmas Tree is front of the City Metropolitan Cathedral and City Hall.
The plan was bared by Celino during a press conference last week dubbed “Kapihan ni Alan” where the tri-media can ask Celino questions in the spirit of transparency and participative governance.
The giant Christmas tree will cost about P300,000, which will come from contributions from the business sector, including those from Bubbles Ong of Twin Hearts Realty, Danny So Chan of Dancorr, Pablo Chu of Solid Merchandising, Leny Albert Apaitan of Black and White and Red Sun.
“It is the symbol of hope and unity among us,” Celino said, referring to the giant Christmas tree.
He enjoined all sectors to hang their own stars on the Christmas tree as gifts for indigent children during the Yuletide Season.
Celino said the materials for the giant Christmas tree are recyclable and can be dismantled and installed again every year in the next 20 years.
The project will be finished in 20 days and installed on the site of the Roxas City fountain.*
