12-yr.-old boy electrocuted
ROXAS CITY – A 12-year-old pupil of Dinginan Elementary School was electrocuted yesterday morning when he accidentally touched the live wire of a Capiz Electric Cooperative power line on his way to school.
The victim was identified as Welmer Arcega of Brgy. Balijuagan.
His relatives were helpless in rescuing him for fear that they will also be hurt.
He was brought to the Saint Anthony College Hospital where he was declared dead.
Merdieta Arcega, aunt of the victim, said the boy along with her and their relatives were walking together before the incident.
Arcega washed his foot and then he stumbled and accidentally touched the CAPELCO power line which got disconnected.
The victim’s family blamed the CAPELCO management for the incident.*
