Legal aid brought to Sapian residents
SAPIAN, Capiz – A free legal service was conducted by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, and the municipality of Sapian at the residence Mayor Arturo Orosco Sr. yesterday.
Orosco said the joint project aimed at helping the poor who could not afford to hire lawyers.
With his wife Dr. Evangeline Orosco, the mayor thanked the lawyers and board members who rendered their services.
Board Member Remia Fuentes Bartolome, chairperson of the committee on justice and human rights, said the IBP brings legal assistance to the poor and the services they render is a manifestation of their thanksgiving to God for their blessings.
The IBP legal assistance to the poor was also conducted in Panitan last year.
Other lawyers who offered free legal advice are: Board Member Leobeth Delicana, Orlanda Lumawag, Leogardio Dadivas, Rechell Agrigorio, Emilyn Depon, Marcelo Augusto, Kristina Gigawin, and Christine Joy Banday.*
