Four Guimbal policemen get death threats after drug haul
The four policemen of Guimbal Police Station who informed the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 on the P7-million cocaine possessed by a drug dealer in the neighboring Miagao town have been receiving death threats.
A cocaine supplier from Metro Manila has hired assassins to liquidate them, intelligence reports said.
Unidentified persons have also been asking about the whereabouts of the four police officers.
The information provided by the policemen led to the arrest of Carlito Buen, 48, who was found with P7 million worth of cocaine during the raid at his residence in Brgy. Maninila on November 16.
Buen’s supplier has been identified as a certain “Rene.”
Chief Supt. Cipriano Querol Jr., police regional director, said he will verify the report on the threats to the lives of the four policemen with the regional intelligence personnel.
He said threats are part of the risk in being with the Philippine National Police. “As policemen, we are all risk-prone and we are ready all the time whatever may happen.”
The four policemen will be promoted once they pass the assessment of the PNP Special Placement and Promotion Board.
Querol said he is waiting for the PDEA 6 report where he will base his endorsement letter for the promotion of the police officers.
“Their accomplishments will be determined and if they are qualified they will be promoted one rank higher,” he said.
Querol said the four policemen will also receive medals.
In contrast, Miagao police chief, Insp. Fernando Limbongan, was relieved from his post for failure to monitor Buen’s illegal drug activity.*JPR
