Village councilor killed
A councilman of Brgy. Rizal Pala-Pala in Iloilo City was shot to death by a fish vendor Saturday night at the Iloilo City Terminal Market.
Efren Tuvilla, 58, who also heads the market’s fish vendors’ association, sustained two wounds on his nape.
He was brought to Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital where he died an hour later.
Senior Insp. Eliezer Baclagon of Iloilo City Police Station 1 identified the suspect as Ernesto Castor, 38, who had a heated argument with the victim days earlier.
At around 7 p.m. Saturday, while Tuvilla was inside the market, Castor shot him four times.
As of press time, Baclagon said he is negotiating with the Castor family for the surrender of their kin.*
