Body found near Capitol grounds
A body of a man in his 30’s was found at around 1 a.m. Sunday behind the Iloilo Provincial Capitol in Brgy. President Roxas, City Proper, Iloilo City.
Police identiied him as Frederick Unato, 33, of Rizal St., Lapuz, La Paz district.
The man, who worked as helper at AM Builders in Tanza Baybay, City Proper, sustained several stab wounds on his back and face.
His wallet was missing and so was his footwear, police said.
An initial report said the suspect was a member of fraternity group Tau Gamma Phi, but police investigators brushed aside the allegation.
As of yesterday afternoon, the investigation focused on the last person seen with Unato.
Unato, who was drunk at that time, was seen boarding a pedicab.
“And we have received reports of a pedicab driver who robs his victims,” an investigator said.
Before Unato was found, a woman was also found dead along Iloilo River, but no wound was found on her body.*JPR
