Weather station to open in Guimbal
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) will establish a weather station in the port area of Guimbal, Iloilo next year.
Regional Director Rowen Gelonga of the Department of Science and Technology 6 said the weather station will be a permanent structure and will also serve as a maritime monitoring station.
The PAGASA weather station is currently holding a temporary office in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
Under its modernization program, the PAGASA equipment will be equipped with automatic weather monitoring gadgets.
Such gadgets would provide the public fast and accurate updates on the weather conditions.*PNA
