Jamindan inaugurates P.5-M day care center
ROXAS CITY – The municipality of Jamindan recently inaugurated a day care center worth P500,000 in Brgy. San Vicente as part of its efforts to improve pre-school education program in the locality.
The project was funded by the local government unit through the KALAHI process.
KALAHI is the acronym for Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan, a flagship poverty alleviation project of the government that supports a community-driven development approach to reduce poverty.
During the inauguration program, Assistant Regional Director Joel Galicia of the Department of Social Welfare and Development said he will work out for the convergence of KALAHI, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and Self-Employment Assistance Kaunlaran (SEA-K) in Jamindan town.
Galicia also commended Mayor Ethel Jinon for being a community development-oriented local chief executive.
Jinon has been awarded as “Best Local Chief Executive” last year for the institutionalization of the KALAHI process in Jamindan.
For her part, Jinon emphasized that pre-education is important and it is one of the priority programs of the municipal government to attain the “Shining Jamindan” vision.
She also urged the community to take care of the day care facility so that it will last long enough to cater to the needs of the children.*PIA
