Father seeks justice for son mauled in jail
ROXAS CITY – A father, whose son was mauled inside the Roxas City Police Station, is calling for justice and planning to file charges against those responsible for the incident.
Complainant Victor Baldogo Sr. of Brgy. Lawaan said in a radio interview that his son was mauled by his fellow inmates while he was detained for getting involved in a rumble at the city plaza during the Sinadya sa Halaran 2010 revelry.
He was arrested at around 2 a.m. yesterday.
Baldogo said the other inmates were reportedly ordered by an alias “Putol” to maul his son.
The younger Baldogo, who is now admitted at Capiz Emmanuel Hospital, said he was punched by his fellow detainees on the stomach and on the back.
He said the policemen ignored his shout for help.
The elder Boldogo blamed the police on-duty for failure to respond to the mauling incident.
He said his son was supposed to be detained only for safekeeping.*
