OCD to hold orientation on disaster risk reduction
ROXAS CITY – The local chief executives of Capiz, together with the deputized coordinators of the Office of Civil Defense in different municipalities, city and province will gather for a meeting today the Hall of Governors of the Provincial Capitol.
It will be the first meeting of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council with OCD 6 Regional Director Rosario Cabrera.
Cabrera is the new chairperson of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in Western Visayas.
She will orient the members of the local DRRMCs the salient provisions as well as Implementing Rules and regulations of Republic Act 10121, otherwise known as An Act Strengthening the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Framework, and Institutionalizing the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Plan.
The orientation on the new law will be the main agenda of the gathering.
Acting Provincial Administrator Jose Villanueva will welcome participants while Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco Sr., who chairs the Provincial DRRMC, will give a message.
Discussions on the different issues related to the new law will be taken up during the open forum.*PIA
