Brods-in-law kill each other in duel
ROXAS CITY – Two men who are brothers-in-law were killed after fighting each other using a bolo and a firearm in Brgy. Tacas, Pontevedra, Capiz over the weekend.
The Pontevedra Police Station identified the fatalities as Ricardo Magsila Jr., a teacher, and Deolito Bernales, a tricycle driver.
Magsila’s wife is the younger sister of Bernales.
Magsila sustained hack wounds while Bernales had gunshot wounds. They were rushed to Bailan District Hospital where they were declared dead.
The incident took place at around 2 p.m. last Saturday when Magsila got drunk and berated Bernales, who took his bolo and hacked his brother-in-law.
When Magsila was attacked by Bernales, he also took his gun and shot him.
The family of Magsila has requested the Philippine National Police crime laboratory to conduct an autopsy on his cadaver as there are rumors that a third was party involved in the deaths of the two.*
