Ivisan wins Capiz GPK search
ROXAS CITY – Ivisan town outshined other municipalities in Capiz in this year’s Gawad Pangulo sa Kapaligiran provincial competition.
Last year, Ivisan was only second place to Panay town.
Interior and Local Government Provincial Director Helen Mestidio said with an average rating of 97.97 percent, the municipality of Ivisan bested 14 other towns after Panay was no longer in the running for having won first for three consecutive years.
Dumarao, Cuartero, Panitan, Maayon and Dao towns won the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth places, respectively.
A cash prize of P150,000 and a trophy was awarded to the first place winner and P125,000, P100,000, P75,000, 50,000, and P25,000 plus trophies were given to second to sixth placers.
A consolation prize of P10,000 cash was also given to each of the remaining 10 municipalities.
The awards were given yesterday at the “Pagdayaw sa Capiz 2010” awarding and recognition ceremony attended by DILG 6 Regional Director Evelyn Trompeta and Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco Sr.*PIA
