Gas station robbed; 2 suspects arrested
Another gasoline station in Iloilo province was robbed Wednesday afternoon, the second incident in a span of nine days.
Four suspects on board two black Honda motorcycles held up Santiago Caltex Station in Poblacion, Barotac Viejo town at around 4 p.m., police said.
When they arrived, the two backriders went to cashier Jelyn Carillo, poked a handgun at her, and took her P15,000 cash collection.
Chief Insp. Wilfredo Rios, police chief of Barotac Nuevo, said the group went towards Brgy. Santiago in Ajuy, Iloilo.
Policemen later cornered two of the suspects in Nueva Invencion, Ajuy.
Giro Faith Aguinido, 24, of Brgy. Velasco, Lemery and Gabino Española, 23, of Brgy. Pinay Espinosa, Ajuy, claimed they dropped off their companions along Sitio Baclayan in Brgy. Santiago.
They, however, said they are clueless about the identities of their companions.
They both claimed they were just hired to drive the motorcycles.
But Rios said they have an information that after the two unidentified robbers alighted from the motorcycles, they boarded a white car.
“That’s still the subject of our investigation,” he said.*
