‘Management making MIWD a milking cow’
Some personnel of the Metro Iloilo Water District are making the MIWD their milking cow, said lawyer Honorato “Hans” Sayno.
Sayno, who sits as corporate secretary of the Board of Directors, said that based on the raw data they gathered last week, MIWD general manager Le Jayme Jalbuena has released P 5.5 million for the 15th and a half month pay of the employees allegedly approved by the interim Board.
He called the transaction illegal.
Sayno said the MIWD management also released grocery allowances and solicited the approval of the interim Board for salary increase.
“Those amounts included their illegal transactions that could have been a big additional capital for the restoration and rehabilitation of our water facilities,” he said.
Sayno added that despite the Regional Trial Court has declared the appointment of the interim Board illegal, Jalbuena is still recognizing them.
“They (MIWD management) is taking advantage of the situation because they have their own personal agenda,” he said.
Sayno said once they can secure all the data on these illegal transactions, they will submit it to the Commission on Audit.
After the transactions are declared illegal by the COA, they will file appropriate charges against the MIWD management, he said.
“We will ask them to answer all the illegalities they made in due time,” Sayno added.*
