PIA 6 holds staff briefing
The Philippine Information Agency 6 conducted a briefing/workshop on the Balanced Scorecard for all its employees across Western Visayas, covering its information centers in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, and Iloilo, including Guimaras, and Negros Occidental.
The PIA6 were oriented on how the balanced scorecard operates in the organization, review PIA’s mission and vision, assess their individual strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, and how these can be translated/improved vis-à-vis their Infocen’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to be able to achieve PIA’s goal and objective.
PIA 6 Director Janet Mesa said the Balanced Scorecard provides a framework to translate the strategy adopted by PIA into operational terms.
She added that the employees’ goals and objectives should be parallel to that of PIA and its success should be viewed from the perspective of its clients (customers), financial (budget), and internal processes and from the learning and growth of its employees.
The results of the workshop highlighted the fact that due to the limited number of its employees, the strength of PIA centered on the ability of its employees to multi-task and to be flexible, while its weakness was on its limited staff.
However, because of this, an opportunity that could be tapped was the network of information officers from the regional, provincial, down to the municipal level which it organized, along with its media and non-government partners.*PIA6
