‘Supply of Noche Buena products sufficient’
The supply of Noche Buena products being sold in Iloilo grocery stores and markets are sufficient for the holidays, according to the Department of Trade and Industry.
DTI Iloilo Manager Wilhelm Malones said that based on their monitoring, there are still enough Noche Buena products on the shelves such as fruit cocktail, cheese, ham and sandwich spread.
“There is so far no problem on the Noche Buena products. We still have enough supply of ham,” he added.
Malones, however, said a slight increase in prices has been noted, approximately three to five percent.
The RFM Foods Corp, sell a kilo of round shaped ham at P298 while the Purefoods, at P325.
He said the Philippine Association of Meat Processors has already issued a moratorium on the increase of prices of other meat products.
The price of flour has also remained stable but there is a slight increase in the prices of bread products due to higher prices of refined sugar and liquefied petroleum gas being used in baking.* PNA
