Suspect denies killing teener
ROXAS CITY – The suspect in the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old Charles Jimbo Barcenas has denied involvement in the Wednesday morning incident.
Archie Aranza, 21, who is detained at the lock-up cell of Roxas City Police Station, said he was seen at the scene of incident as he was curious about the victim.
Aranza was arrested after several witnesses pointed to him as the one who shot Barcenas, who was on his way home from a dawn mass at around 5:20 a.m.
Barcenas, who sustained lone wound, was declared dead at the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital.
Senior Supt. Khasmir Disomangcop, city police chief, had earlier said the incident could have been caused by a gang war as the victim and the suspect belong to opposing gangs.
He said the suspect is facing charges for the death of Barcenas.*
