The Department of Trade and Industry in Iloilo is seeking faster business registration process in all local government units (LGUs) in the province starting next year.
DTI Provincial Director Wilhelm Malones said they hope to hasten the registration, processing and releasing of business permits and licenses particularly to new investors.
Malones said the plan to streamline all business processing in LGUs in the province is intended to attract more investors.
He said the DTI will help also LGUs to standardize their registration and business processes so that it will be consistent with the Anti-Red Tape Act.
The DTI plans to coordinate with the Department of Local and Interior Government to ensure that the LGUs are enforcing strict compliance on the requisites and laws in terms of trade in their area, he added.
Malones said improving the business name processing in key towns in the province will foster a robust countryside economy and create more small and medium enterprises.
He said the DTI aims to bring more businesses in the rural areas and promote its indigenous products to bigger market opportunities.*PNA
