Man dies, partner critical in Roxas road accident
ROXAS CITY – A man on board a motorcycle died on the spot while his pregnant partner is in critical condition after they collided with a passenger jeep Sunday afternoon in Brgy. Lawa-an here.
The fatality was identified as Don Clair Barbasa, 23, of Panitan, Capiz.
His live-in partner, three-month pregnant Christine May Ongsod, 21, of President Roxas is confined at the Intensive Care Unit of Capiz Emmanuel Hospital.
Barbasa, who sustained multiple injuries, was also rushed to CEH but he was declared dead.
Police said the victims, who were on their home from Roxas City to Panitan town, collided with a jeepney coming from the opposite direction at around 5:30 p.m.
The jeepney driver, Ronnie Cornelio, 38, of Brgy. Fe, Jamindan, Capiz surrendered to the Roxas City Police Station, where he is currently detained.*
