Oso challenges solons to name meddling prov'l official

The expose of Ilonggo solons on the alleged meddling of a provincial official in the affairs of the House Committee on Good Government has been met by disbelief and surprise by a senior member of the Iloilo Provincial Board.

New City Hall likely to remain in its present site

City Mayor Jerry Treñas said most of the officials and department heads of the city government prefer to have the proposed P320 million City Hall constructed in its present site in Plaza Libertad rather than in Brgy. San Pedro, Molo district.

The long- running chaotic Sangguniang Panlalawigan is Vice Governor Rhodora Cadiao's own doing, accused the members allied to Gov. Sally Z. Perez. The reason they alleged was that Vice Governor Rhodora Cadiao refused recognition of the new majority in the provincial board based on a resolution last March 27, 2006 approved by the said majority members. The resolution declared and changed chairmanships of all the committees in the Sanggunian including the Majority Floor Leader.
