RTC junks group's petition to stop signature verification

Iloilo City--The city and provincial offices of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) may continue with the verification of signatures gathered for the administration backed "people's initiative."

Contractor assures airport project still within timetable

Taisei Shimizu Joint Venture, contractor of the P6.2 billion New Iloilo Airport Development Project in Cabatuan-Sta. Barbara area, assured that by March next year they will already turn-over the project to the Department of Transportation and Communications for commissioning and testing.

Court ruling a boost to 'people's initiative' move

Iloilo City -- Mayor Jerry Treñas claims victory on the decision of Judge Ma. Yolanda M. Panaguiton-Gaviño of Regional Trial Court Branch 34 junking the petition for Prohibition with Prayer for Preliminary Injunction and Issuance of Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against him and local Comelec officials relative to the verification of signatures gathered for "people's initiative" to amend the 1987 Constitution.

Another graft charges up vs Syjuco

Provincial Administrator Manuel Mejorada formally charged Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) Administrator Auguto "Boboy" Syjuco for violation of Section 3, paragraphs (e) and (h) of Republic Act No. 3019 (Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act) and Republic Act No. 6713 (Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees) relative to the acquisition and sale of two dumptrucks belonging to his Tawo kag Duta Foundation.
