Tan plea for guardianship dismissed
The Court has now ruled on the matter of custody on the surviving children of murdered couple, Bobby Tan and wife Cindy Zayco.
With a Writ of Habeas Corpus filed in Special Proclamation No. 06-8390, family matriarch Filipino-Chinese businesswoman Conchita Tan moved to petition for the custody of six minor Tan children.
Yet in a two page decision, The News Today (TNT) gathered that the Court has now ordered to dismiss the case banking on the testimony of one child as assessed by a Court designated psychiatrist.
The dismissal is expected to secure similar decisions in other Zayco-Tan cases lodged against maternal family members of Cindy and the director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
Alongside the custody battle, cases of kidnapping and serious illegal detention was lodged before the Military Ombudsman, Child Abuse raps and Abuse of Authority, obstruction of Justice and Dereliction of Duty also before the Military Ombudsman.
Meantime, murder complaint on the Tan killings remain unresolved before the Office of the City Prosecutor here. The killings took place in January with two of the Tan children named as suspects.
