Malacañang's drive for civilian involvement in the country's fight against terrorism reached Iloilo with a call for unity made to Ilonggos.

Stores selling fake products in DTI's watchlist

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial director Diosdado Cadena Jr. said they will conduct random inspections and confiscate products with low quality standards especially those coming from China in preparation for the coming holiday season.

Motorists avoid the bananas planted in the middle of the road in Pakyad, Oton.

'Rough' road planted with bananas

Residents and motorists passing by the unrepaired portion of the road in Brgy. Pakyad, Oton woke up to an unusual sight Tuesday morning as bananas were planted in the middle of the road.

A total of 22 full grown bananas were planted in the middle of the uncemented road having an interval of 10-15 meters each and occupying an estimated span of about half a kilometer disrupting traffic flow in the area.
