Capiz showcases local products in trade fair
Roxas City -- Fresh and processed seafood products and various agricultural yields including by-products will be showcased by the provincial and city governments in a trade fair exhibit at the Provincial Park as part of this year's Sinadya sa Halaran (SSH) celebration Dec. 6 to 10.
The Kapisnon Trade Fair will be participated by various municipalities and city-based non-government organizations (NGO) exhibitors.
Each participating municipality will feature its own products identified, developed, and promoted through the national government's One Town One Product (OTOP) program.
The five-day fair will be exclusive for Capizeño exhibitors, said Capiz Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Inc. (CMPCI) chair Nenita Urquiola.
CMPCI is in-charge of the SSH trade fair exhibit with supervision from the city and provincial agriculture offices.
A landscape will be designed around the booths beneath a giant parachute as an added attraction for trade fair goers and shoppers, said Urquiola.
An accelerated and integrated enterprise development program has been included in the Ten-Point Development Agenda of the provincial government to promote entrepreneurship and create jobs for Capizeños.
The program has led to the organization of the Provincial Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council (SMED-C) and Capiz Hotel, Restaurant and Resort Association. It also resulted in the regular participation of the province in products showcases including cutflower growers in national and international shows and floriculture congresses.
A Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) center has been established here to showcase Capizeño products and assist local entrepreneurs and producers.
