Boracay security task group formed

Various law enforcement agencies yesterday signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the enhancement of security at the world renown Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan in the wake of terror threats in the country.

San Lorenzo fisherfolk receive compensation claims

Fisherfolks from the town of San Lorenzo started to receive yesterday (Thursday) their compensation claims from the P22 million compensation fund from the International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund (IOPCF).

Treñas: No more Christmas party for City Hall employees

City Mayor Jerry Treñas has decided to cancel the Christmas party of City Hall employees at the Iloilo Grand Hotel because of the negative publicity it created to his administration.

Irritated by the adverse reaction of some sectors for allocating P.5 million for the Christmas party, Treņas said that they will no longer hold joint Chrismas party. Instead, each department will have their own Christmas party.

At least a hundred airsoft enthusiasts wrecked havoc in the usually tranquil barangay of Alaguisoc in Jordan, Guimaras for a 24-hour wargame all in the name of reviving the beautiful island province as one of the premier tourist destinations in the country.

Held last November 25 and 26, airsoft teams from Eastern and Western Visayas shot each other with realistic looking electric powered guns.
