P6.2M security service contract up for Capitol
Over P6.2 million in security services contract is up for signing at the Capitol following the approval of the Committee on Ordinances, Legal Matters and Inter-Government Relations.
Scheduled to be presented in today's regular session, Committee Chairman, Board Member Domingo Oso Jr. is expected to push for the final nod of the body with the recommendation contained in Committee Report No. 34.
Saying all provisions in the contract are "generally in order," the P6.2 million budget will go to the security agency known to be that of the governor's political ally, retired police general, Miag-ao Mayor Gerardo Flores.
The multi-million Capitol security deal covers the services of 53 blue guards who are to render services on a 24 hour-7 days a week period.
Interestingly enough, the item up for approval has now seen a major improvement in terms of the period covered for the amount sought. Previous requests for a similar approval raised questions on the contract dates stated where even before the contract is duly and officially awarded, the said security agency has already rendered services to the Capitol.
