WHAT IS A NORMAL DAY FOR A LEADER LIKE YOU?
It starts at 6 in the morning, with a smile on my face. My class starts at 7:30 till 12 noon from Thursday to Saturday. Afterwhich, I eat lunch with my friends and sometimes go on errands or meetings whenever there is an upcoming event in school. Most of the time I stay in my office, the Office of the Student Affairs, planning some activities and events for the students. Whenever I have free time, I always see to it that I have the chance to glance at our lessons because we'll never know if there will be a surprise quiz or instant oral recitation.
YOU HAVE QUITE A BUSY DAY FOR A STUDENT.
My day as a leader is basically a balance of academics and co-curricular activities. I always see to it that in the morning I attend my classes or duty in the hospital and in the afternoon I find time to plan out the activities for the students.
DID YOU RECEIVE AN AWARD RECENTLY?
I am the recipient of the Student Leadership Award last Feb 14, 2007.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT WINNING?
I feel humbled and driven to do well in every undertaking I enter into. It's a nice feeling that what I am doing is for the benefit of the students.
HOW DID YOU ACHIEVEMENTS HELP YOUR SCHOOL AND THE STUDENTS?
I started being active in school when I was in the second year. But it is just this year that I was able to implement my projected activities. The first one is the collegiate acquaintance party last July 13, where the IDC Supreme Student Council took full coordination under my leadership. The said event was a success since we have, for the first time, combined the different departments in one acquaintance party. Last August 19 to 20, the IDC Supreme Student Council conducted a leadership congress wherein student leaders in IDC were exposed to leadership trainings to further enhance their skills in dealing with their fellow students. Also, in the College of Nursing, the SNAP sponsored the special screening of Harry Potter 5 as our fund-raising activity. That, too, was a great success. I also planned for other future activities for the school year, so expect more from me.
WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM YOUR EXPERIENCES?
Patience, perseverance, determination, proper channeling of activities and many more. Also, I realized who my true friends are --- those who have been there through the good and bad times. In my entire experience as a student leader, it has been my friends who gave me the right amount of pushing force to go on.
ARE YOU HAPPY?
Setting aside my love life, I can say that I am happy. I feel contented whenever I see my friends. You see, I am a very transparent person. When I feel happy, I laugh and smile. When I am sad, you can really see it in my face.
WHAT OTHER PLANS DO YOU HAVE?
I have many plans for the rest of the school year. I often joke about it and say "I'd rather be an event organizer than a nurse." Can that be possible?
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE QUOTES?
"It is your attitude that will lead you to your highest success."
"Don't tell people how to do things, tell them what to do and let them surprise you with their results" - George S. Patton
