DTI to open one-stop shop center for investors in Iloilo
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in partnership with related government agencies, will launch on Wednesday a National Economic Research and Business Assistance Center (NERBAC), which will serve as a one-stop shop center for would be investors.
The NERBAC, which was pilot-tested in Cebu and Davao, was designed as information database of basic information about investment opportunities in the region.
It was conceptualized to provide faster service in the processing of permits and licenses.
The highlight of the launching activity would be the signing of the memorandum of agreement and pledge of commitment between NERBAC and partner agencies to be witnessed by Trade Undersecretary for Regional Operations Group Carissa Cruz-Evangelista.
Among the agencies involved in the NERBAC are DTI for Business Name Registration for single proprietorship; Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for SEC Registration for Corporation and Partnership; Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) for Certificate of Cooperation for Cooperatives; Iloilo City Local Government Unit (LGU) for the mayor's or business Permit; Social Security System (SSS) for Certificate of Registration and Membership; Home Development Mutual Fund (PAG-IBIG) for Certificate of Registration; Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) for Tax Identification Number and Certificate of Business Registration; and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) for PhilHealth Employer Number.
NERBAC will also link up with the Philippine Business Registry so that processing of documents could be done simultaneously by agencies involved. (PNA)
