PNP files complaint vs. RPA-ABB in Janiuay ambush

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday filed a formal complaint against members of a breakaway Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPA-ABB) before the peace pact monitoring committee for the March 28 killing of a policeman and the wounding of two others in Janiuay town in Iloilo.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Western Visayas has step up efforts to protect and preserve caves in the region amid widespread illegal excavations and unregulated access use of the caves.

Eight-kilometer boulevard up for development

An eight-kilometer boulevard is up for development in Iloilo City as part of the second phase of the multi-billion Iloilo Flood Control Project (IFCP).

City Mayor Jerry Treñas said the proposed boulevard will start at the Carpenters Bridge in Tabucan, Mandurriao up to Forbes Bridge in Lapaz district.
