Quota International of Iloilo under the leadership of 2008-2009 President Marjorie Locsin received donations from Sen. Mar Roxas (through Atty. Benjie Gengos), Judy Araneta Roxas, District 41 Quota International Clubs, family and relatives for families whose homes were ravaged by typhoon Frank.
For several days, Quota International of Iloilo members packed goods for 300 displaced famillies that included laundry basin (palanggana), pail and water dipper, native mat, ample bottled water, used and new clothing, bedsheets and pillow cases. Distribution of relief goods were scheduled for two successive Saturdays to affected areas in Leganes and Pavia. Likewise, a medical mission was set up during the distribution of goods.

Relief goods were first distributed last July 12, 2008 at the Leganes Resource Center for the Deaf (LRCD) with the assistance from the Municipality of Leganes through their Municipal Social Welfare Officer, Lolit Camarig and 65 families were recepients from Bgys. Nabitasan, Guaan, Napnud, Guinobatan, Guintas, Guihaman, Buntatala and Poblacion. Our medical check up services was under Dr. Greg Sancho. Snacks were also distributed by Iloilo Quotarians.
Quotarians went on the road again last July 19, 2008 to the Municipality of Pavia: first to Bgy. Balabag and upon our arrival was welcomed by ABC President and Balabag Bgy. Capt. Andresito Jurrilla. His team assisted us in the distribution of goods to 100 families in their open basketball court. 1st Kgd. Mike Gorriceta arrived a bit later. Quotarians then proceeded to Bgy. Tigum where we were welcomed warmly by Bgy. Captain Alexius Hondrade together with Kgd. Gorriceta again. Bgy. Tigum must be the hardest hit in the area with 170 affected families and the club had goods for only 100 families but nevertheless the lucky 100 jumped for joy upon seeing the water, banig and palanggana.

The Gorriceta family promised to provide for the remaining 70 families in this area. Similarly, a medical services team in cooperation with the Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Joyous Jan C. Santos were on hand to provide prescription and medicines to those who needed medical attention at their poblacion gym.
The Quota International of Iloilo outreach would not have been successful without our other non-Quota donors like Mrs. Lucy Uy, ATCO Parts Center, Mr. Edwin Tam and Leonardo Monteverde. Lastly, we thank our unnamed sister Quotarians all over the Philippines for their unwavering support to our cause.
