City gov't donates patrol car, motorcycles to ICPO
To increase the police visibility and mobility of the police, the city government turned over a brand new patrol car and eight motorcycles to the Iloilo City Police Office.
The turn-over rites was held in last Monday’s flag ceremony of the city government at Robinson’s Place car park. It was attended by officials of the city police.
Mayor Jerry Treñas said the donations of the city government to the police will hasten the response of the police during crimes. The city government is very responsive on the needs of the police to maintain peace and order.
The patrol car will be given to the Arevalo police station while the motorcycles will be for the six police stations and waterfront detachment.
On his part, Senior Supt. Melvin Mongcal appreciated the donations to the city police for its quick response to those who are in need of police help.
Last week, Representative Raul Gonzalez Jr. also turned over 24 units of .45 caliber pistols and computers to the city police.
The vehicles, firearms and office equipment are the city’s help to the local police to address their deficiency in terms of its logistical needs in maintaining peace and order here.
