New Bacolod-Silay Airport collects P40 pesos parking fee
BACOLOD CITY -- The New Bacolod-Silay Airport is now charging a parking fee P40 among vehicles that park on the airport compound.
Airport manager Antonio Alfonso said the collection of fees started July 1 and is being conducted by a private firm, Panay Island Parking Specialist pending the finalization of requirements for the bidding.
Alfonso said the fee is being collected by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines as part of its income generating programs to sustain its 85 national airports nationwide
As a policy, the said parking fee of P40 is charged for the first two hours and an additional of P5 for every succeeding hour.
Compared to Iloilo Airport, Alfonso stressed that the fee in Bacolod-Silay Airport is lower.
“Iloilo is charging P50 compared to us which is only P40,” he added.
Aside form that, Alfonso also said that the P200 terminal fee, increased rental of floor space, and landing and takeoff fees are also among the other fees being collected at the New Bacolod-Silay Airport.
The airport site actually includes 21 buildings with a total floor space of 10,075 sq.m. and the total site area including the runway and taxiways totals 187.2 has. The terminal building has an area of 6,187 sq.m. and also has parking space for about 350 cars.
