The LTB Wine Nite

Learning is a continuous process. And to be good at what one does, one has to continuously learn through reading, attending seminars or lectures related to one’s passion or network with people who share the same profession or expertise as you do.
As a chef who wants to continuously innovate in order to provide Ilonggos with a better culinary culture, I decided to be a part of the Los Toque Blanches Philippines (LTB). It is a non-profit organization that brings together hotel and restaurant professionals. LTB is a member of the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS), which is the world governing body of culinary associations dedicated to maintaining and improving the culinary standards of global cuisines.

Once a month, LTB holds a gathering among its members in a selected restaurant for a special dinner prepared by their fellow member. This is called the LTB Chefs Table. Last June, we were fortunate to be treated to the masterpieces of Chef Marco Legasto and wines selected by Stephan Weiprich for the LTB Wine Nite at Purple Feet, located at Bel-Air, Makati City.
The night was not just all food and wine, but it has a noble purpose, too. A portion of the proceeds from every LTB Chefs Table goes to funding the LTB Culinary Scholarship Program.
The LTBCSP sponsors individuals from Hotel and Restaurant-related schools or groups for a culinary education in Manila. Through this, the scholars may share their knowledge and uplift culinary standards within their community. LTBCSP provides tuition, textbooks, uniforms and a knife kit per school.
