Young adults with disabilities in an El Filibusterismo play

Breaking Barriers for Young Adults with Disabilities (BBY) is a joint project of Katipunan ng Maykapansanan sa Pilipinas, Inc. (KAMPI) and PTU Denmark in partnership with the City Government of Iloilo under the project of Hon. Jerry P. Treñas.
As of the month of July, 2009 there are already 117 YAWDs who availed of free comprehensive rehabilitation and vocational training.
Performing Arts workshop is one of the training offered to the Young Adults with Disabilities (YAWDs) in order to enhance their skills in acting and be socially involved in the community. The upcoming El Filibusterismo theatrical play production of Jose Rizal is a culminating activity in relation with the celebration of Linggo ng Wika. The play depicts defeat, revenge and love.

The cast includes the YAWDs and Out-of-School Youth.
This activity is organized by the Breaking Barriers for Young Adults with Disabilities-Training and Development Center and Padayag Performing Arts to be shown on the following dates August 21, 22, 28 and 29 at West Visayas State University Cultural Center.
