Capiz press bureau turns 3 years old
ROXAS CITY – The Capiz Provincial Press Bureau (CPPB) has marked its 3rd anniversary last June 2 with a simple media fellowship as the provincial government’s center for information dissemination activities.
CPPB chief Edward Basilonia said during the gathering that the bureau will continue to serve as the information arm of Gov. Victor Tanco’s administration to give the Capiceños better access to public information.
“We are planning to hold campus journalism training in addition to the cable television and radio blocktime programs,” Basilonia noted.
The bureau also maintains a monthly “Pag-ulikid” newsletter publication.
Basilonia added that a new breed of young and talented multi-media practitioners were added to the bureau to help realize a mission for a well-informed and enlightened Capiceños.
For his part, Tanco has thanked the tri-media practitioners “for being fair” as he also commended Basilonia and the CPPB staff during the fellowship activity.
The chief provincial executive has also underscored the need for local tri-media practitioners to get together to strengthen their camaraderie and solidarity.
Tanco led some provincial government officials and employees who graced the noontime party.
Earlier, the media-friendly governor has pledged for an efficient and quality information dissemination as an essential aspect of public service.
“The public as partners of the government deserves to be informed of matters which concern them and the community they live in,” he said. (PIA/A.Lumaque)
