Iloilo City to get recognition in Palladium BSC summit
Iloilo City, the first and only institution in the country inducted into the Palladium Balanced Scorecard (BSC) Hall of Fame for Executing Strategy, will be recognized in the 2010 Palladium Asia Pacific Summit at Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Manila from September 22 to 24.
Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said he will share the city’s key insights, learnings and successes in implementing the BSC system that aims to address the slow pace of development in the country, during the session on September 23.
“We are proud that our city was recognized internationally and our hard work acknowledged. Our road to making Iloilo City a Premier City by 2015 has greatly paid off and we will surely continue this practice for the coming years,” he said.
Iloilo City will be awarded during the 2010 Palladium Asia Pacific Summit Hall of Fame ceremony. Palladium Group Asia-Pacific managing director Matthew Tice and Palladium Group founder and director Dr. David Norton will give the honors to the city government.
This year’s forum highlights international speakers who share practical experience and good governance practices.
The Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA), a non-government organization that advocates good governance also recognized the city by providing a mark of distinction on Public Governance System with an Institutionalized Status. The distinction was given before the Palladium Group Hall of Fame was granted to the city.
“Iloilo City is the first in the Philippines to have received recognition as prestigious as the Palladium Hall of Fame. It is an embodiment that even with one city at a time, the country can embrace good governance using BSC as a tool to measure performance,” ISA chair Jesus Estanislao said in a statement.
The BSC system was implemented through ISA’s PGS. Each department in all sectors developed a scorecard to correspond to the city scorecard of the mayor which aims to measure targets and monitor work progress.*
