Another honest Ilonggo in jeepney driver who returns cash, valuables
Iloilo -- Honesty is still the best policy.
Or so at least for jeepney driver Carlito Tabillo of Sto. Niño Sur, Arevalo, bearer of good news to the owner of a green bag left inside the passenger jeepney plying the Villa route.
With no second thoughts whatsoever, the 45 year-old Tabillo lost no time in securing his'catch' that contained undetermined amount of cash, office documents and payrolls of one city-based company. The bag was apparently left by an office employee and was spotted by Tabillo minutes after he was about to return his rented jeepney.
Unable to locate the owner himself, said honest driver sought the help of his boss, jeepney owner Jeffrey Casiano. Efforts are underway to facilitate the return of the bag.
'Pigado man ta pero indi man masarangan sang konsyensya ta ang magkuha sang indi aton ah (I am hard-up myself but my conscience cannot take it to get what is not mine),' he said when reached by radio reporters.
