Obet shrugs off job-order issue, feels sorry for SP members who dance 'Mejo's tune'
A non-issue not deserving to be dignified. Yet one issue he feels sorry for being dignified.
Such was the sentiment of Vice Governor Roberto "Obet Armada hounded for weeks now by the "job order-ghost employees issue. With call for probe pushed and entertained by the Sanggunian Panlalawigan (SP), the vice governor said he welcomes the move even as he maintains, that nothing will come out of the investigation.
"I don't put in much emphasis on the job hire issue. It is a non-issue. I don't want the issue to be dignified for I am confident that when all of this is over, nothing will come out of it. For three months now, Boy Mejorada is doing nothing more but trial by publicity. No accusation of his has been substantiated. I'm saddened by the fact though that some board members are also dancing to Boy Mejorada's tune, he said when reached by The News Today for comment.
Mejorada, a top aide of Governor Niel Tupas has since hurled the accusations against Armada while making the rounds for documents that are supposedly his solid evidences on the issue.
The ghost employees are said to be named but are non-existent or at least, not within the Vice Governor's office and official employ.
"Go ahead with the investigation. There is nothing to fear here, he ended.
Meanwhile, the SP has yet to set the schedule for the first hearing on the issue though the majority voted for Board Member Domingo Oso, Jr. to become chair of the Committee of the Whole that will conduct the investigation.
Oso earlier vowed to be fair in the investigation even as he assured the public there will be no whitewash in the inquiry.
