Cops hunt robbers, rapists of two teeners in Pototan heist
Police are on the look-out for two male suspects responsible in Thursday's early morning heist and sexual assault on two young female teeners.
The incident occurred in Pototan, Iloilo with the victims doubly traumatized by the crime, the two culprits believed to be locals in the area. Operatives of the Pototan Police Office are now joined in by intelligence agents under the Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO) with SPO4 Dionisio Rebesa, town police chief vowing to work overtime in solving the case.
In a report, The News Today (TNT) gathered from sources that validation is underway on numerous tips coming from civilian informants. It was learned that the victims' assailants were spotted in the 24-hour burger joint where the two were working.
Investigation disclosed that the hold-up was announced about 2am with the suspects armed with a knife and a gun. The teeners were then forcibly made to board a motorcycle and brought to a hut in Barangay Barasan of said town where they were raped.
Some thirty minutes thereafter, the grieving victims were spotted by a passing motorist and when told of their plight, brought the two to the police.
Authorities are confident of an arrest soon with the victims now in the custody of government social workers.
