Rotary gives a "Tribute to the Valedictorians"
The Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo (RCMI) of Rotary International District 3850, in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Itako, Japan, will honor all Class 2006 High School Valedictorians of Iloilo City with a "Tribute to the Valedictorians" which will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at the Boracay Ballroom of Sarabia Manor Hotel and Convention Center. This is the first time that all Valedictorians (Public and Private High Schools) of Iloilo City will be gathered in one venue to be able to interact with each other and be honored guests of the Rotary Club. The Valedictorians will be awarded with Medals of Distinction and Scrolls of Excellence and will be given some gifts by the Rotarians. Ms. Therese Badoy, Founder of Rock Ed Philippines and Faculty Member of Ateneo will be the guest speaker and Mr. Noel Cabangon, a singer/ songwriter will be the guest performer. During the program, the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo will launch its Scholarship Grants to deserving students.
Aside from recognizing the accomplishments of these graduates, Dr. Paul Francia, the Chairman of this project expressed that the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo realizes that these Valedictorians are the future leaders of our City and thus, he hopes that through this project, the students will know about what Rotary International is about and hopefully, they will become future Rotarians as well.
Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo Makes MIRAcLES Happen
The Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo (RCMI) will launch a new project that will benefit poor but deserving students graduating from High Schools of Iloilo City. The project is aptly called MIRAcLES (Metro Iloilo Rotary Academic and Leadership Excellence Scholarships) will offer scholarship grants for College Education to qualified High School Valedictorians. Details of this project will be explained by the Chairman, Dr. Paul Francia during the "Tribute to the Valedictorians" on March 28, 2006 at the Sarabia Manor Hotel.
