Parricide raps up in Antique killing
A 26 year-old son of a farmer was officially charged of Parricide by the Belison Police in the Province of Antique following Thursday's killing that shocked the community.
The victim, 49 year-old Antonio Ardenio of Concepcion, Belison succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head, his assailant-son Boyet Ardenio surrendered to police thereafter.
In a report, The News Today (TNT) gathered that motive of the killing was a longtime unresolved family conflict. The victim apparently attempted to settle the row that fateful evening however yet another argument ensued where a single gunshot was then heard by neighbors.
Police were alerted by the locals however response proved too late for the 49 year-old father.
Recovered in the crime scene was the slug of the .45 caliber pistol used in the incident while the weapon itself was found by a nearby hut.
Family members who rushed to help brought the elder Ardenio to the Angel Salazar Memorial Hospital however efforts to revive him failed.
