Cops nab town driver for guns, drug possession
A casual employee of the Pototan Municipal Government was arrested and faces drug, illegal possession of firearm raps following a successful police operation.
The suspect was identified by authorities as Meliton Yñiego who was nabbed inside the family home minutes after operatives of the Regional Intelligence and Investigation Division (RIID) conducted a search.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Branch 30 Presiding Judge Adriano Savillo, RIID raiding team recovered seven sachets of suspected Shabu otherwise known as "poor man's cocaine," drug paraphernalia, one 38 caliber revolver, one 357 revolver, and scores of ammunition for a shot gun, 45 caliber pistol, 38 caliber revolver among others.
Yñiego has since been subject of intense police monitoring amidst tips from civilian informants of his suspicious activities. An RIID source told The News Today said suspect is believed to be among the principal player in the town's illegal drug trade.
Drug charges and illegal possession of firearms are being readied against him at the moment.
