Pinoy pa kills 2 daughters, self in California
Filipino-American parishioners of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Montclair, California expressed shock over yesterday's (Thursday) discovery of an apparent suicide-murder within the church grounds.
International news wires revealed the victims as "Asians" however confirmation of the incident was later reached by The News Today (TNT) involving a male Filipino described to be in his late 30s to early 40s and his two daughters aged one and two respectively. The father is believed to be the young girls' attacker with the murder weapon, a kitchen knife found inside the car. He was found by police seated on his car's backseat with the girls on both sides, bloodied and lifeless by the time a group of medical team responded.
International news wires further disclosed police investigation that revealed a marital dispute over the holidays which left the man separated with his wife. It was not immediately known if the wife is a Filipino as well however police said she was safe albeit in apparent shock over the killings.
News got out of the suicide-murder moments after a church employee noticed the car with the three occupants bloodied by the church parking lot. The discovery came about 5 a.m. Philippine time.
In a report, TNT learned that the man worked in Las Vegas however came to visit his parents in Montclair for the holidays. The identities of the trio were kept by authorities as of press time.
Members of the Filipino community based in Montclair similarly voiced shocked over the incident saying they know the man and his family to be highly-devout Catholics.
Southern California's KCAL news further reported of a 911 call made by a "hysterical caller" saying his brother killed his two children.
A Police Captain Chris Weiske in same new source was quoted as having said, ``You hear about these things around the holidays. They are senseless tragedies that tear at your heart.''
Montclair is some 35 miles east of Los Angles with a significant number of its residents of Filipino-descent.
