Streamlining Business Registration Project.
The Iloilo City Government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for the implementation of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development for Sustainable Employment Program (SMEDSEP) that will streamline business registration procedures (SBR) in Iloilo City on 21 December 2006.
SMEDSEP's Streamlining of Business Registration Project aims to improve the local business & investment climate and the reduction of bureaucratic costs in the business registration process in Iloilo City.
The Iloilo City Government, as part of its responsibilities in the MOU will undertake the following: ensure the implementation of streamlining business registration activities; foster close cooperation between the government and private sector; promote private sector as engine of growth for employment and income generation; and provide counterpart contribution for undertaking the streamlining of business registration and the ISO certification.
On the other hand, DTI and GTZ will co-oversee the conduct of activities and documentation of the baseline data; co-facilitate the process of identifying procedural bottlenecks and the formulation of recommendations for improvement through public-private participation.
