Probe on rape-slay of 12 yr old teener 'unites' Flores, Garin
If anything good has come out in the ongoing probe on the rape-slay of a 12 year-old teener in Miag-ao, Iloilo, it would be the "unification" of Mayor Gerardo Flores and Guimbal Mayor Richard Garin.
Both known to be in serious odds with their respective politics, Flores came out in public Saturday saying in pursuit of truth and justice on the teener's senseless death, he will work together with the Guimbal Mayor.
In fact talks are underway between the duo with Mayor Flores confirming the personal talk he had with Mayor Garin. Further still, an order is out on operatives of the Miag-ao Police Office to fully cooperate with Guimbal police counterparts.
This, as Flores appealed to members of the local press to be more considerate and less critical of Garin and his administration with regards to the misdevelopments on the case and continuing police operation.
The hapless victim was discovered lifeless in Barangay Igcocolo, Guimbal, Iloilo. Probers believed she was sexually assaulted and killed elsewhere and later dumped in said barangay.
Last week police invited two persons believed to be the last persons the victim was seen with.
The two who are close relatives of the victim, one a cousin and the other an uncle, are still under police investigation.
