Taking the challenge
The News Today is out to take the challenge. After more than six years in the industry we feel that we are ready to go daily. It's just a coincidence that it is election season and that press freedom in the country is under threat. Nevertheless, it is under such situations that we can test our mettle.
Going daily is no joke. It means more work, more outlay, and more pressure. Going daily means adding to the stiff competition on advertising share as there are already a lot of existing dailies in the market. But why do we take this challenge? Because we believe that this is the ultimate way by which we can fully serve you. Modesty aside, we are flattered by the perception the Ilonggo community have on us in the more than six years that we are in the industry. While it served as our inspiration in facing the challenges that come our way it also inspires us to do better.
It goes without saying that we are still committed to bring you quality news and useful information everyday. As we go daily we assure you of the same quality content in every page that you read. We will also be adding sections which will surely take the interest of readers from various walks of life.
Don't expect us to give you gossips, character assassinations and yellow journalism (a type of journalism that makes unscrupulous use of scandalous, lurid, or sensationalized stories to attract readers) as the others are doing. Sorry, we are not joining the fray. We intend to remain as what you have known us to be.
On the grander scale, by going daily we hope to revolutionize the landscape of local journalism. Wish us luck as we journey to this direction.
