RANGE ushers in new set of officers
A new set of Officers led by Atty. Janet Mesa of the Philippine Information Agency 6 will take over the leadership of the Regional Association of National Government Executives (RANGE), from its present set of officers headed by Director Evelyn Trompeta following elections held recently.
RANGE, which will celebrate its fortieth year of existence in April this year is composed of incumbent Regional Directors, heads of Regional Offices and other officers of equivalent rank of the different offices, agencies and instrumentalities of the national government including government-owned or controlled corporations, state colleges and universities in Western Visayas and their assistants. Other members also include former members of the Association who have rendered notable service to the association who by retirement, transfer, resignation or promotion have ceased to be regular members.
Among others, RANGE seeks to closely coordinate the operations of national government offices in Region VI for greater efficiency and effectiveness and maintain an honest and responsive public service in line with the goals and programs of the government.
Other new officers of the RANGE include Directors Edwin Trompeta as 1st Vice-President, Rolando Asis of DPWH as 2nd Vice President, Honey Paredes of NAPOLCOM as Secretary, Romeo Escalona of PCIC as Assistant Secretary, Russell Ildessa of SEC as Treasurer, Fred Tayo of Postal Bank as Asst. Treasurer, Hermosa Villa as Business Manager, Larry Nacionales of DA as auditor, Jeanette Oberio of PCSO as PRO and five Board of Directors, composed of Luis Sorolla of WVCST, Edgar Deysolong of PFDA, Dominic Abad of DTI, Vicente Molejona of POPCOM and Wilfredo Dulay of PNP. As past President Director Evelyn Trompeta of DILG sits as ex-oficio member.
According to Director Mesa, who is also the Assistant Deputy Director General for the Visayas of the Philippine Information Agency, plans for a simple induction will still be discussed by the new set of officers.
