What's next for Armada?
A press conference will be called today by Vice Governor Roberto "Obet" Armada in response to Friday's major legal setback suffered in the 38-paged Decision of the Court of Appeals 18th Division.
Expected to be heard is the vice governor's reaction and next move relative to the permanent injunction granted to Governor Niel Tupas Sr., Fourth District Board Member Domingo Oso Jr., and Second District Board Member Cecilia Capadosa.
The CA Decision meant an undetermined stay on the dismissal order for the trio alongside the supposed penalty of perpetual disqualification from public office. It would mean then that Tupas Sr., Oso Jr. and Capadosa are free to file their Certificates of Candidacy and fight anew in the coming elections.
Tupas Sr. is expected to file his candidacy still as governor of Iloilo, Oso Jr. as his running mate and Capadosa reportedly as Second District Representative.
A vindication, the trio called the CA ruling even as Third District Board Member Manny Gallar went on air Saturday to make public the 'behind-the-scenes' and 'untold stories' relative to the case that got the trio convicted for dishonesty by the Ombudsman.
In a live interview over RMN 774, Gallar openly challenged Oso Jr. to disprove him on what he said he personally knew of the illegal transaction.
And he was bribed with P50,000, Gallar further said of the deal but that he declined because he knew that every single peso of it will go to his personal account and not an official expense as still insisted by Oso.
Meantime for lawyer Cornelio Panes, private counsel for Armada, it would be a waiting game until their client decides.
"We have to wait what client wants. The remedies are there for him to choose," Panes, a noted lawyer explained in a text message. "We suggest, client decides. No word yet if he would pursue the case."
