300 greek gods and villas
Two weeks ago I watched the movie 300 with my husband and together with a good friend. I really liked the movie. It's one of the best movies I have seen so far for this year. Of course, it was all computer generated images, nevertheless, it was a great movie and I enjoyed it. For one, there was an overload of testosterone flashed before my eyes for an hour and a half. The male body looking like it was covered with a gallon-load of sun tan oil. I know I am exaggerating but if I must because I was so impressed with their beautiful bodies, so be it! Muscle to muscle, perspiration to perspiration, clink and clank of the swords when they fought with the Persians, and the jaw-opening strength they have. It was so full of action, not so much dialogue. Where else can the line that goes, "Who do you think you are some Greek god and god's gift to women" seem fitting? Believe me, I don't mind saying yes to that question after seeing all the characters in the 300 movie. Here is a true blue movie with an overload of testosterone without trying so hard to look like a chip... and whatever (the name slipped my mind). Though my male companions would disagree with me because all that mattered to them was the "oracle" I must say with all the exposed male bodies, there was equal footing when it comes to how male hormones probably went a fever higher after seeing the oracle and the bed scenes. However, the visual effects were of high quality. The costumes just right for the roles played. The Persian king was a little outlandish though and his voice was kinda bizarre too I am not sure why. Anyway, I felt a little jumpy during the fight scenes. It seemed real to me. Terrified was more like it I guess especially with the immortal beings that looked like a poor copy of Darth Vader's costume. The guys from Sparta only have their sword, shield, helmet and their breech--cloth or loincloth is more like it--to begin with while all their enemies were covered from head to toe except again of course the Persian king. They really look like Greek gods if I may say so.
Another thing I like about the movie is how Greek culture is almost the same with ours when it comes to how women are treated. The women were treated equal in Sparta. If you have seen the movie, it was the part when this arrogant soldier of Persia insulted the queen and how she was defended by King Leonidas and how her opinion mattered to him. In the end, the Persian soldier got kicked off to the pit, falling and screaming like a mad man. I love that scene.
Greece is one of the places I dream to visit and who knows maybe someday? It is such a romantic place for me I don't know why. Perhaps, I used to be a Greek princess or queen. I even love the Greek mythology. I also like the white structure where they live which they call villas. Oh well, someday.
Hey, don't miss to watch this movie 300. Great movie! Very entertaining and it's worth your money. I hope you can still catch it.
